Wedding Band Cardiff - August 2016
Compared to the 10 weddings we played at in July, August was relatively quite - just the 5 weddings and a brilliant 40th Birthday in an antiques store!
We started the month back at St Donats - an incredible wedding venue in the Vale of Glamorgan, with views of the sea from the stage! We've played there twice this year, it is a great mix of medieval and modern and we'd highly recommend it!
The following night we ventured into Cardiff City Centre to play at the Jacob's Antique Centre. What an amazing party - on the 3rd floor with an Hawaiian theme, break dancers, lots of Gin and the band in Fancy Dress! We welcomed Mark Dryden on Keyboards for the evening, as band stalwart Matthew Clayton was taking a well deserved holiday.
August the 13th saw us returning to my home town. We played at Abercwmboi RFC for a family friend's wedding. All the guests had been to Santorini and were all still in the holiday spirit for this one.
We were back at Canada Lake and Lodge - a stunning Lakeside venue in Cregiau - the following week. A packed dance floor in the main lodge and live music until late in the evening.
The coastal theme then continued into the final week of August, we played on a Friday at the wonderful "Barn at West Farm" in Southerndown. The sun was out and the guests were on the terrace sipping champagne.
This was a very interesting gig to finish the month. The Bride and Groom had in fact married 6 years previously with no wedding party. They have decided to emigrate to the USA so decided to have a wedding party as a leaving do!
Some emotional speeches and a late night party to end the August festivities....
Thanks for reading.....on to September!
