Wedding Band Cardiff - June and July 2016

Well we are in full swing. I'm writing this blog in the height of wedding season. June, July and August are always our busiest months. 16 weddings for us in June and July alone. We've been travelling. East Wales, West Wales, Plymouth and Cornwall have been some of the recent places we've visited. We've had a great couple of months with a couple of hotel stays.

Some of the venues we've had the pleasure of playing have been incredible. For example one weekend in early July we played at 2 different castles. Getting the set up and sound right in so many different venues has been a challenge, but we've invested in new equipment this year, which is giving us a lot of flexibility.

For the update I thought I would pick up on a couple of key themes.....

Old friends - a huge thank you to a couple of people who have helped us out in the last few weeks. Darren James and Mark Dryden have been excellent to cover for our Guitar and Keyboards respectively. Great professional musicians with years of experience, fitting seamlessly into our line up - allowing some of the band to take well deserved holidays.

Hog Roasts - Where have all the hog roasts gone? Last year we must have sampled around 20-25 different hogs. The catering themes have definitely changed this year. Fish and Chips and Pizza becoming more popular delights. Still plenty of pic n mix on offer though.

First Dances - The last few years Ed Sheehan and The Lumineers have dominated. This year couples are definitely picking a much wider array of songs. We've learnt reggae, ballads, rock songs. More stripped down laid back acoustic vibes are becoming more popular.

August is full up in the Calendar. To finish July we have a 50th party this evening then a full day at the Celtic Manor tomorrow.

More updates coming soon. Thanks for reading.

John
